The Manager Direct Support is a critical role at Inclusion Melbourne, ensuring the highest quality support services, which are compliant with NDIS standards.

Reporting directly to the Head of Services, this role will have primary responsibility for the ongoing support, of both participants and employees within this program at Inclusion Melbourne.   In addition, a key component of the role and responsibilities are in Practice Leadership, coaching and mentoring Direct Support Professionals and other staff, in accordance with Inclusion Melbourne’s person-centered services and practice framework.

This dynamic role includes recruitment, retention, coaching and management of employees, whilst supporting efficient transition of participants to direct support services.  Oversight and support to the rostering of employees, and liaison with participants and families are a key part of this operational role.

The Manager Direct Support will develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, families, Support Independent Living services, Support Coordinators and other professionals.

The successful applicant will have exceptional customer service skills, as well as being a positive ambassador for Inclusion Melbourne, promoting our services to the wider community.

Inclusion Melbourne offers a flexible work environment, offering hybrid working arrangements, with onsite duties to be performed at our Head Office in Armadale, however you may be required to work across metro areas.

What we are looking for

  • A deep commitment to supporting people with disabilities to pursue their dreams;
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in the disability sector;
  • Experience in managing direct supports, and engaging with participants and families;
  • Experience managing a team, with a commitment to a strength-based approach to performance development and fostering a positive workplace culture;
  • Strong working knowledge of the NDIS, and practice leadership, and person-centered approach to service delivery;
  • Strong communication, and customer service expertise, to promote person-centered care;
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia;
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check;
  • Compliance with Victorian government Vaccination Mandate
  • Current driver’s license and access to a roadworthy insured vehicle.

Working Arrangements

This role is full time at 38 hours per week.  You would be required to perform duties onsite in Armadale, in addition to some meetings occurring in metro Melbourne, and as mutually agreed, opportunity to work from home.
