Student Support Officer – Sunshine

About the Opportunity

InclusionTraining is a registered training organisation (RTO) that offers courses for individuals with an intellectual disability, as well as those working in, or new to the disability sector.  Inclusion Training offers a pathway from pre-accredited learning to accredited courses for basic language, literacy and numeracy, all the way to the Certificate I in Work Education and work experience placements.   Learners are assessed through competency-based training and perform set tasks according to the standards for each course. 

The Student Support Officer role is to support the Trainer & Assessor to deliver quality education courses, create suitable adult-focused activities and design and deliver skills development programs under supervision.   You will also provide support during breaks and while in the community.   

What we are looking for

  • Strong literacy, numeracy and communication skills;
  • A deep commitment to supporting people with disabilities to pursue their dreams; 
  • An ability to follow directions from the Trainer and be able to adapt to changes when required; 
  • Willingness to work with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours; 
  • Good computer/IT skills; 
  • Experience or willingness to assist people with their personal care and manual handling requirements; 
  • Current driver’s license.

Working Arrangements

The position is part time and will be based in Sunshine, Visy Cares Hub,  80b Harvester Road.  

Commencing 3rd Jan 2023.
